I am an Environmental Engineering PhD student, working under the supervision of Dr. Anwar Sadmani at UCF (Co-supervised by Dr. Lei Zhai). Prior to joining UCF, I completed my M.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Tennessee Technological University. My current research focuses on nanotechnology and innovative techniques for leachate, water, and wastewater treatment using membrane technology. I have recently started a research project funded by the Hinkley Center to investigate the application of nanofiber membranes in treating landfill leachate contaminants. We are hoping to continue our research on finding novel methods and processes for treating landfill leachate. I expect to graduate in 2019. My plan after graduation is to continue a career in research with the goal of environmental protection, surface water and groundwater, wastewater, and leachate contaminant remediation. While the study of and research in membrane applications are my prime objectives today, my interests in sport, literature, philosophy, and nature help me maintain a sense of perspective in life.
